SOME OF OUR BIG WINS
ARIZONA
In 2024, Opportunity Arizona has scaled up its efforts, expanding to eight districts and targeting 15 key legislative seats. Leveraging the insights from our 2022 program, our program refined legislative communications strategies to effectively engage voters. Our data-driven approach has continued to demonstrate measurable impacts, moving vote choice in critical districts and advancing our mission to shape a more representative legislature. By leading the legislative independent expenditure table, we’re driving the strategic investments needed to influence outcomes and build lasting infrastructure for future cycles.
COLORADO
In Colorado big wins have meant big progress. Our work helped protect and expand our pro-prosperity trifecta. We helped re-elect our pro-consumer Attorney General, and we turned out organization members at an 89% rate.
MICHIGAN
Over three cycles, Prosperity Michigan Action Fund has played a vital role in flipping the Michigan House of Representatives. Prosperity Michigan Action Fund helped flip a seat in competitive Oakland County and then helped flips seats in Kent and Grand Traverse County that led to Michigan’s first trifecta in 40 years for Democrats.
MINNESOTA
None of the pundits saw it coming. Our bold strategy to invest in key Senate races flipped the Minnesota Senate by one seat, creating a trifecta that passed groundbreaking progressive legislation and propelled Governor Walz onto the vice-presidential ticket. We defied expectations and changed history.
NEVADA
Building on this success, our 2024 program strategically focused on four new legislative seats, reflecting our commitment to expanding our impact across the state. Through targeted messaging and community-driven outreach, we successfully shifted the conversation in these districts, ultimately securing two of the four seats. These victories underscore our ongoing dedication to advancing policies that resonate with Nevadans and creating pathways for meaningful progress.
PENNSYLVANIA
In 2022, we zeroed in on heavily Latino areas of Pennsylvania to reach voters in Spanish and discuss abortion and other essential issues in the Governor’s race. Our work saw an an average increase in support for Josh Shapiro of 4% in areas with high density of Latino voters – and Shapiro ran ahead of Joe Biden’s 2020 margin by an average of 14.2% in those places.
In 2024, our attention shifted to the state legislature, were we ran programs in 7 districts and successfully protected 3 incumbent seats, allowing Democrats to hold their narrow and hard fought majority in the State House.
VIRGINIA
In 2021 and 2023, we ran one of the largest scale c4 programs in the Commonwealth. In 2021 we held House districts in Loudoun County and Virginia Beach where others lost seats in a tough cycle. In 2023, we launched our political program earlier than anyone in the state, securing both House and Senate majorities built on wins in 6 battleground districts. We are the only organization running political communications on key policies like tax fairness and prescription drug affordability.
WISCONSIN
In 2022, The Wisconsin Initiative was the first group to run ads to help define Governor Tony Evers, alongside running campaigns to turn out college students and defend critical state legislative races. In 2023, The Wisconsin Initiative helped to elect Janet Protasiewicz to the State Supreme Court. And after years of fighting for fair redistricting maps, Governor Evers signed new maps into law in 2024.
